Instead of making the Profile Field Type a Single-Line Text Box, you could try Single-Selection Menu, assuming there's a limited amount of selections they would need. If not, you may want to post a Modification Request for it. If this is how those RPG hacks are done, you'll probably get a response pretty quickly. I'll look into it this weekend as well as a separate hack. Just did a quick search, no one's posted a hack like that as far as I could see.
