I run a board for a gaming community that has teams and such. we want each team to have the abililty to have and control their own subforums and look/style and bans without it affecting the rest of the board. Separating to private forums (another url) for each team just makes it more difficult to keep the community together/united/informed.

and thanks for the suggestion about the public joinable group, I haven't ever tried that. do they enter members' names that they want to allow in the group or do people have to request to join.. and does a request send a pm or email or how's that work?

I have been wanting an "EZBoard" type Forums since VB2.0 (Tribes 1 days) when I did not have the time to be in charge of 346 - 700 forums - I did not have time to play any games, just run the forums - I ran a site in the "day" w/ 75 clans @ 25-200 people per clan we moved to VB because of the 10,000 popup and Ads.

What a pain it was making groups / changing access to clan members 10 X a day because they drop from 1 team go to the other. I told them its my way (because I could not make it where they edit it) - Now I have 1-4 clans on my site. I could not keep up w/ the requests. They all went and made their own site w/ phpbb that they had controle over like EZboard. :ermm:


- It's not going to happen here.
- VB does not do that.
- In 3.x days when new there was a beta hack that was made to do this - It was Axed. It floats out there in cyberspace but unsuported and blaw blaw blaw.

It's a shame - guess I could start working on phpBB. Blaw its not worth it to use phpbb. Reason I bought VB .
