Well.. you'd have to make the misc images.

I have done that on www.mmogcommunities.com and then used the vb category icons hack with a slight modification to do what I believe you are referring too.

Only downside is having to create several images

, but it's pretty simple with the graphics pack and just use photoshop and the blending options - color overlay - change the color to black and select 50%
