I have a CMS on our site; and when I add certain articles, I want to create a new thread (I'd need to select which forum to put it) in 3.5 that would be linked from the article to "discuss" it. I'd need to get the thread ID back, so the cms could automatically link to it. The thread would have a summary of the article (that I'd input) and a link to the original article. Each are on different subdomains (www and forums).

If anyone knows how to do something like that, please let me know. Thanks!
