She means open your hottopics.php and paste before where is showthread.php /forum/ same as I did it as you can see below

It is maybe 3 or 4 times you need to change this path.

Because the most of us (I think so) have the forum path in this way, it would be better to change the php in that way or would be nice to place a hint in the install.txt for some of us dumbies
