vb.org Archive - View Single Post - latest threads in a sidebar

My forum used to be on postnukes cms, which had a 5 recent threads list under the navigation menu on the left column, since i moved to vb this isnt there, and alot of my members are making a fuss over this...

I have sorted the html in templates for the sidebar, but I cant for the life of me, get any recent posts to show in there, any ideas?
