So, do I understand this correctly:

Maybe I have a Chess Community Board, and some chess clubs ask me to get their own Subforum. I can now open a subforum which will not be shown on forumhome, but is yet part of the main forum and can be reached by a Link such as "Participating subforums: xxx - yyy - zzz" below the list of all forums (or somewhere else).

Hey, this could be extremely usefulfor me! I think I will have to rebew my vB subscription to get v3.5.
