I made the jump from ubb.classic sometime around 2000 - 2001, mainly due to the fact that vBulletin offered the things I was having to hack into ubb and did so without killing our server.

I first used ubb.classic because like many others one of the first forums I was a member of used it (ubb 5.x to be exact). I used ubb from the late 5.x days til around the time 6.1.x came out. By the time I came over to vbulletin they were at 2.0.3 I think and working on the 2.2.x line
