How do I force a style in "Currently active users" for a specific usergroup that is set as "displaying" another?

For instance.

Usergroup A has images for ranks.
Usergroup B has images for ranks.
Usergroup C is a mod group

I want to bold the mod group C in the Currently active users at the bottom of the page that could be a member of either A or B. A or B do not have HTML markup styles.
