I noticed that most CMS or news systems work this way:
You have to create news forum, where you post news, and then messages posted in this forum are:
a) displayed on the home or news page (if you want)
b) layout of news thread is customized (to be more news alike)

I'd like to ask if anyone knows whether there's already any hack, or some existing CMS can be customized and modified so:
I don't need to create a new separate forum to post news, but I can post news in my existing forums and just mark those threads 'news' (so they have different layout (first news post) and I can display them on the home page?
