Header is busy and it takes up a lot of space.

Overall, I like the new design--I didn't like the colors and BIG ICONS before. It was a IN-YOUR-FACE which was not needed.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS

background header image and logo should appear as one
the top links are REALLY BAD
2 LOGIN sections on main page -- all this does is confuse the viewer
fix the block headers (I attached an image of the siderbar headers.)
I suggest sticking to one layout and refining that layout
