There is a thread on vB.com called "Newbie Mode"

The basic Idea is to have New Users see a "light" Version of vBulletin so if they are not familiar with vBulletin they don?t get overwhelmed with all the features.

I think this is a very cool Idea that could be accomplished with styles.

There could be a style called "Simple vB" and one called "Advanced vB"

In the "Simple vB" Style certain features could be hidden/removed as default (without restricting access to them so no permissions involved) to lighten up the vB experience.

This way new users could get comfortable with vBulletin and wouldn?t need to think about features they would never user anyway.

The style select between simple and advanced could be handled via the style drop down at the bottom or as a profile switch option (drop down).
The profile option would make it look more professional I think.

Wich features to show and wich to hide I would like to make open for discussion as well as the idea in general.

Some Ideas for wich features to remove in the "Simple vB" Style are:

- Reputation (if enabled)
- Mark forums read
- The Quick Links drop down
- Subscription options
- Forum Tools drop down
