Make the <TD> have a colspan of 2, that should fix that.
On your forumhome, the Category names are more aligned toward the top, making them centered vertically would make it better.
I agree w/ whoever said get off vbPortal, there are much better portal hacks available (I am a proud supported of Tigga's mYvBIndex.
Just those three things, and that your style would look even more better w/ a totally customized button // img set, i see you're still using some vb defaults.
