Yes, it's because of the topics being too long. Maybe there can be a fixed chartecter limit to what appears out of the titles name on the main page but that still might not fix allignments for topics that are smaller then the limit.

So still, maybe something can be done.

You could always go in to forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template and set a width.
