I went to play with the code in DW and added what you suggested and it worked. Thank you!!! Of course, later I realized that it was not working because it had $ thread[title] instead of $ post[title]

Thank you so much for your help! Now I need to figure out how to add it to the other tables hehe.... do you know what template holds the tables where the new thread and new reply bottoms reside? Thanks!
