the install process went of very smoothly and I got to the settings screen and completed that successfully. the save button on that page returned me to the settings screen itself (dont know if thats supposed to happen). When I logged into to my admincp and clicked Donation Administration, I got the above.

any idea guys ?

As always back your site up before you do any modifications, this includes your database! That said:

It sounds like your database wasn't properly installed. Did you have a previous version installed? If so, try uninstalling using the donations_install.php file. after you have successfully uninstalled everything with that script, run it again and try installing everything again.

Make sure you are using the latest version, and make sure that when you upload the files, you are actually overwriting the current files. I had that problem where my ftp client wouldn't overwrite for some odd reason, it would just skip them. I shut it down, rebooted, and tried again and it replaced all of the old files fine.
