My battles continue.
First, thank you for the reassurance about security.
Second, my log file is now at 1Gig for the site. RAM is 2Gig and now when the logs process and we get into swap, I get errors like this:
May 18 03:06:05 hitmiss kernel: swap_free: Bad swap file entry 7a29126e
May 18 03:06:05 hitmiss kernel: swap_dup: Bad swap file entry 7e2fe02c
At that point, I can count on the database crashing:
info : Wrong aligned block at 5281650 info : Wrong bytesec: 105-110- 32 at 5281650; Skipped warning : Number of rows changed from 95202 to 94916
Fortunately, the server's rebuild takes care of the database errors, but I'm at my rope's end with ev1servers.net and ezsm.net because these folks should know how to fix this stuff. The swap errors started when they added the second memory board. Shouldn't the swap file be double the RAM amount?
I came back to this thread to check your reference on ThePlanet.com so you can see where this situation is going. For now, I'm going to gzip the log files, but that is only a temporary measure.
I realize that this isn't a support forum. I'm just rattled and I need a break in "The Lounge."
