You seem to be missing the point.
The Edit Battles is for editing ongoing battles, such as changing whos turn it is, changing who the participants are, etc.
You tried to save the information on a battle, when there are no battles to save the information from. You cannot save information from nonexistant battles.

And obviously you have to create a battle for there to be a battle # and pw to enter in that form, d'oh.
