By your rationale, there is absolutely no privacy in any legally acquired music, whether through digital services or through physical CDs. You're supporting the RIAA in each way as well to varying degrees. Remember, with an iPod, the majority of people who load it with legally acquired music do so by ripping their CDs, not by downloading music from iTunes.
Then again, I don't have anything to hide with my music, so while I don't enjoy that they "track" me, I don't do anything about it. Just like I wish TiVo didn't upload my Season Passes back to TiVo but I'm not watching porn or anything through Season Passes so I don't care.
But this thread is for critiquing his forum, so let's stay on that topic.
