To clarify, I'm trying to make a non-vb page on my site accessible only to my site's forum members. There are about three hacks here that I can find that are supposed to achieve this, and I run into the same problem with all of them. Well those hacks haven't been replied to in about three years, so I'm gonna test my luck here...
The problem is that any page I want to restrict where I stick the following line of code in to read the global.php file...
PHP Code:
<?php include("forums/global.php"); ?>
it just opens up the forum login page. I don't understand why it does this (and I'm a learn-as-I-go novice at all of this). It seems like instead of including the global.php file for the rest of my code to use, it tries to open
www.mysite.com/forums/global.php, and hence just gets re-directed to my forums.
This is an ongoing problem I've had with any hack I've tried to install which requires global.php (ie, non-vb page login box, etc.). I would post more details, but I've tried to many hacks and had this problem that it must be something more top-level that I'm just overlooking. But if more details are needed, I'd be happy to post them.
Could someone please let me know why this happens to me? Thanks! :ermm:
