My fav is The Geek's article hack.
I do have vbjournal installed on my forum, but I use it as a blog system not as an article system.
I used to have v3articles but my members were not very comfortable with it... they complained of not very spider-friendly urls, of a confusing UI, bugs etc.... in the end they would post their articles in the forum as threads instead of using v3articles. Personally, I didn't think v3articles was too bad, but hey.. it just didn't suit my forum.
I tried Cing's on my test forum, and found it was too fussy for my liking. Yes it was feature rich, but I didn't need all those features and from experience with vBarticles I didn't think a standalone was best.
Geek's article hack was super popular with my forum members.... they loved it and I loved it... it's simple, it does the job and having the articles as threads within the forum makes life so much easier. It also benefits from the mod_rewrite I have for my forum in that articles too get a spider-friendly and user-friendly url. And that installer is just the coolest.
