So out of line? Don't follow you there considering we are priced less than almost every one of our competitors

With a leased license, you pay 85USD a year to use the software.
With an owned license, you pay 160USD, and you have support forever, and access to the new versions for 12 months. After this time, you can opt to renew the download access for 30 USD. It is optional. We will release any major security fixes in the forums along with the full package which requires download access

I know people who bought a vB1 license, and are now using vB3, and have only renewed their members area access 2-3 times in 5 years.
