If I recall I changed something with regards to those nested ifs, but I can't remember what am I'm waiting for one of my dedicated boxes to come back up so I can see

With regards to the showing post icon if no thumbnail, now that you've explained it in that way, it makes perfect sense and would be very useful for stickies in otherwise thumbnail enabled forums.

I might implement this myself on MTS2.
