I never actually got to see the site before it was taken offline, so I can't really make any judgement.

One thing that I will say is you'd think that people would at least approach the author of the site about a complaint than going straight to the host, especially coders from here as a community.. While going straight to a host often is the most effective resolution to stolen content and code, it's not always necessary and in this instance it doesn't sound like it was.
