It's a few months overdue, but an importer script for Ryangel's Journal (vB3 Port) -> vBJournal 1.0.0 is finally being written and is even near completion.! The importer is FULLY compatible with table prefixes. I've spent a solid 3 days (almost) coding this thing, and has almost reached 2000 lines of code which makes it by far my largest script yet..

What it will do:

• Backup Ryangel's Journal database tables
• Revert database changes made by Ryangel's Journal
• Remove Ryangel's Journal templates
• Remove Ryangel's Journal phrases
• Install vBJournal database tables
• Alter database tables for vBJournal compatability
• Transfer data from Ryangel's Journal to vBJournal
• Install vBJournal phrases
• Installing vBJournal templates

There are certain limitations to the importer however, due to the differences in the way that Ryangel's Journal and vBJournal are structured and written. A couple of modifications must be made to the journal.php file in order to display the imported entries and comments correctly, but this will NOT affect any additional entries made past this point.

I realise many people may have already made the switch and sacrificed their data, and I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything like this sooner.. This has been a huge learning curve for me, and the back-end of the script has been inspired by John's v3arcade installer.

I am currently looking for beta testers before this is posted publicly, so if anyone is interested please send me a PM. I will be finalising the documentation later tonight to get this packaged up for testing..
