I dont know if this is possible already but I would like the private message function to act a 'mini forum'.

So you can have users responses and replies to eachother on one page, much like a forum. They can invite other people into this as well to join in.

Infopop have this kind of layout and its really usful in terms of group discussions and to keep track of conversations.
