you are wrong, with usergroup permission it's not only about hidding it, the links aren't there, even you try that link by typing you will only get the no permission. If vb isn't like this then guest can be superadmin.
and about the dual control panel, it's really necessary. I got one good reason: in one board there can be 100 mods but only 10 admin, so that's it you can control all of your admin but it's almost impossible to mess with 100 guys, and the reason is the link to your ACP is hidden for everyone exclude admins so if you use only one CP then those mods could just make a mistake showing that link to some bad guys. There're more, this just my 2cent
