am completely new to vBulletin. I am not a newbie to Win2003 Server, Linux, Apache, IIS, etc, etc. But I have never installed PHP.
So...I took it at face value when the vBulletin site said it suppoeted PHP 4.x and up, and installed PHP 5.0.2. Installed the SAPI version (D:\PHP\php5isapi.dll). I got it working in no time and verified operation by writing a little PHP script:
<? phpinfo(); ?>
...which executed with no problems. However, whenever I went to execute the ...\install\install.php script, I got blank pages i the browser.
So....I paid for installation. Correspended with Martin a few times only to learn that vB does not support PHP5. He says to install PHP 4. Okaaaaay. Back to the drawing board.
So....I've been trying to install PHP 4.3.9 all morning. No luck. Trying the same installation method (manual) as before but I get 404 errors every time I try to run my test script or the install script. I have re-read and triple-checked EVERYTHING.
Would anyone be willing to help a poor schlub out? I'm out of ideas, patience, and places to turn, so I thought I'd post here.
Helluva first post, I know, but I'm trying to save what little I have of my hair left.
Larry
