I am not a pro, but still can recommend something.

If you have added many hacks/addons recently and plan to remove them completely, I recommend following these steps (recommended only if you know what hacks are installed from you on ur board. )

a. Please do a back of your entire Database + Board Files before foll. this steps. (always helpful)
b. Open the hack information thread, open the .txt or .zip file, check the instructions for any mysql queries, new templates, phrase addons/changes in same, reverse those entires.
c. Delete all the .php files from your forums, download a fresh new vbulletin from vb.com/members area.
d. Run the update, you will have an unhacked board in place

^^ this is what i followed while upgrading from vb 3.0.0 to vb 3.0.x its very easy.
