Unless there are major code changes, most of the hacks made for 3.0.0 (gold) will work for 3.0.x. not a 100 guaranteed to work, but most likely will work.

Try it, if it doesn't work, then nothing really lost but time.

Just remember to always backup before trying an older hack on a newer version.
