I'm looking for a way to use vB to output news on my site without having to use a portal system. My staff has been experimenting with fitting some modified portal systems into our site template, but we've had mixed or spotty results this far.

What we're looking for is (hopefully) simple. We're looking for a headline system with ONLY headlines - no views, replies, alternate color cells. Click the headline, and it drops you down to the appropriate news post. The ability to have a "sticky" post that stays at the top would be nice as well.

If someone (anyone!) can help or point us in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. We're willing to offer some "incentive", including publicity, linkage, and other benefits.
