You said you tried posting, you might want to edit your post with VERY DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION on what you need done, if it is an advanced job advanced users can contact you, if its intermediate, then intermediate coders can contact you etc.

Another thing you can do is contact members here that have credibility for other work, and are well known (well known because just incase there is a misunderstanding in the transaction you can get ahold of them).

Yet another option is for you to go to sites such as WebHostingTalk or Sitepoint even though they discuss webdesign and hosting, they have large member bases which consist of very talented coders, designers etc.

For general contractor wise you might want to try services such as elance or 123lance which can be very complicated to use.
