I think what pie is referring to, is the email you receive if you subscribe to a thread on vbulletin.org ......it contains the text of the latest post and a link to the thread.

I looked in AdminCP under "Scheduled Tasks" and then "Subscriptions" and the file which handles it is ./includes/cron/subscriptions.php
