Just a thought, from the AdminCP, you could try switching to the option of storing your attacments into the file system rather than the DB. I am doing that on my testing forum and is working well so far however, I have not installed this add-on yet. But when I did it, it reduced over 50% of my DB size.

(I only really stumbled into this hack today so if thats the way it already stores them, forgive me, as I have not yet worked my way through the complete install directions or thread)
