I have made changes to the search.php. Basically I wanted to hack the "View New Posts" so that it will submit all the posts for the last week submitted.
I kind of figured out how to do this. I found the search.php file in the /vbulletin/upload/ directory. I editted it and then saved it. I expected the search to update in the forum but it did not.
I have been informed that I need to ftp the files, but where do I ftp them to and how exactly should I do this to be safe?
Thanks for your help and patience!

First i want to know if you changed it in vB2 or vB3?
you would need to upload this file to your webserver for it to kick in.
but vBulletin 3 already has a feature to get posts from any time frame in it.
