This could be used for any sort of a response-based contest, captions, suggestions, etc. I'd imagine a lot of people would find it useful. This is way too big for me, hoping one of you gurus agree it would be a worthwhile effort.

I would love this mod... I have a caption contest on my board every week and I pick the winner myself, you can imagine how many times I hear ".. but mine was better, I should have won".
I'd like a mod to allow people to vote/rate a post and then I could count all the ratings to see who won.
My current workaround is to stop the contest a day or two early then make a poll and let people vote but that's more work and I'd like to avoid that.
Anxiously awaiting mod.....
so the requirements would be something like:
- Allow Yes/No in Admin CP for a forum (something like Thread Votes/Ratings? Y/N)
- Postbit mod to show a vote count for each post if that forum supports Thread Votes/Ratings
- A vote Icon similar to the 'report bad post' that will vote/rate a specific post
- capture who voted/rated a post as to not allow multiple voting and to let someone change their vote.
- Maybe even a dropdown thread tool that will show the top 5 posts based on the vote count or rating
I'm a programmer and I'd love to give this a shot but I don't want to make something that's ugly, how would you store the information on who voted/rated a post? A postvote table? with postid/userid key?
Any suggestions or similar mods that might be useful?
