This is a forum, not an email list and its distictive feature is to find old threads and resume discussions if a need raises.

I admit that some threads can get obselete but considering the fact that we run a technical site here, discussion in many threads (eg. HTML questions, PHP questions etc.) can be resumed even after years. Besides all members here are board admins so I believe most are capable of wisely deciding whether they should open a new thread or reply to an existing one.
