Well, one thing you likely aren't aware of is that these hacks have alreayd been used on Gamma (which is essentially the same codebase as rc1) and was posted on fan sites well before vb.org allowed vb3 hacks.

So, much testing has already happened. The portal for instance, as been tested extensively and there are many sites that have been running it for months now.
