I'll agree that alot of the hiphop sites turn into racist debates - this and that, some songs are plain stupid and i'm a big hiphop fan but not all hiphop is like that...producers like the neptunes/N.E.R.D are easily forgotten about when people slander hiphop/rap. The people who represent hiphop in a positive way, stand out from all the rest of the posers - jedi mind tricks, canibus and some of the old school rappers.

i get where your coming from but you're looking at the wrong pool of talent, check out where em originated from, battle cats and concious rappers, ppl like De La Soul, Brand Nubian then Black Star, The Roots and Slum Village, it's very different from the usual Pac trap (40% proven depressing and 40% proven violent) tbh i tend to listen to alot of the 'real'-er rappers now as they chat less ++++ and talk more about the struggle that hustling is rather than the glory of killing.

I agree with you artists like the Neptunes are forgotten in debates but that's mostly to do with it's the same sound and so few artists drop over a neptune beat even tho everyones got one, but then you got producers of the art like Dj Premier, Dj Hi-Tek, Kanye West and it's a whole other thing, the production is of a superior level, it effects me listening to all other music types due to this as i just can't take shoddy productions and sound engineering.

My tastes for hip-hop really do vary and as much as i come down on Pac, he's a good artist i got a bit of his stuff but saying that, he's released more ++++ onto the market than LL, he tends to ooze week production

Seriously theirs too many artists to say that rappers just rap about drugs and guns, and i promise you that 85% of the ones you hear rapping about that stuff, didn't own a gun till after they got signed and it's more to do with upholding the image of the fake life they created for themself than selling drugs and stuff. and as for them older rappers it's as Saigon said "you aint out on the block no more" so even them who lived it, are just faking to sell records, it's quite sad, especially when you listen to the real stuff and know ppl who live that life. all in all tho don't judge hip-hop from the radio or magazine, most of the decent artists aint been on any wax bar a mixtape and the ones that are releasing albums don't sell

From the current mainstream crop i can only take; Juelz Santana, Tony Yayo, Ludacris and Ghostface (who wouldn't have made it mainstream if he didn't blow with Wu) anything else, stay away from joke, but try them and the rest of the artists i mentioned and then tell me what you think and diss Hip-Hop
