Some hip hop/rap music does pretty much suck, depending on who you listen too. You can listen to some 2pac/eminem/Dre/Eve/50/DMX/P.Diddy etc etc and they can have an effect on you, JUST because of the lyrics. What makes a great song is great lyrics and if you feel what they are saying then you will appreciate the song more. Most hip-hop songs tend to be aimed at lifes struggles and things like that and alot of people can relate to it. But people have different tastes. Beeing an emcee myself i love rap music but i also enjoy rock music such as linkin park because they impliment rap into their music and it comes out nicely, unlike limp bizkit
