I have noticed that using the SHOW TABLE STATUS query in this manner produces different results for threads, posts and users that if you do it the standard way.

For example, doing:

SELECT COUNT(*) AS count FROM post;

Produces a different result for me than doing:

SHOW TABLE STATUS;

And looking at the "Rows" column.

I am curious as to why this is. Anybody know?
