Our site is 100% written in java/jsp and we'd like to have our own administrative functions to support the forum.. ie add users delete users or even tie them in with our database if possible.. permissions etc, outside of using vb's admin functions.

PHP by default is not designed to operate with JSP or any Java-based language (although you can compile in "experimental" Java extensions).

There is no notable API in vB2. There is a weak API in vB3. However, adding a user is only one query, anyway and a Java wrapper class could likely be very easily written. Most users here though probably do not know Java, or at least do not know it professionally. You can always post a service request to have somebody do it for pay.
