I have some unpublished hacks that can be used as addons to my miserable hack. I have come up with a trapping mechanism which you can use to do selective banning on IP's.

And I also have a few other hacks that are alternatives to banning users. My latest one is called the "Underprivileged User" hack that gives a user slow access and deprive them of a lot of nice features on the board.
