It wouldn't be hard. In the forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template, add the image ABOVE what is already there. If you want different images, the sneaky way to do it would be to make your image url point to a numbered gif based on the forum number by using the variable - $forum[forumid].gif

Then, you could use blank images for the categories where you don't want images.
