No.. You weren't..

I was a little confused with that part of the hack as well (due to the type of wording he used.) Just skip anything that references "add attachment". I think there are only 2 instances of it and they're both in editpost.php.

That shouldn't effect they way you view posts. It's just the editpost part of it.
