It is fairly easy to get a new website to the top of the search engine ladder if you know what you are doing, however..

I now have 150 members and over 200 unique visitors a day which i spose is great. the site has now been there about 6 months.

I have about 6 members who visit regulary and usually post, it dosnt matter what i do i cant seem to get other members avtivly participating. I have been offering comps and prizes (just launched another one called "Post 'n' Promote - A - Thon").

Even with the huge daily visitor rate new members are only about 1-4 a day.

I have see other boards that have over 5000 members and are very active, they probibly get 30+ new members daily .... and i spose this is due to the high activity on the site.

How long does it take to get ppl inspired enough to become more active? If you have a successfull board, did you have inital membership and activity problems like this?

Do you have any other ideas to inspire new members to join and become active?

Im interested to read how others get over this hurdle.
