I'm glad it was a mysql issue

I only have ftp access to my server space, although my webhost will perform anything I ask them to, which is really great. Since I'm learning php/mysql as I go--glad I don't have to learn unix at the same time.

The php method was the only work around I found that worked for me, and I needed something that was reliable, and wouldn't hang without me knowing.
