a) there is another hack for custom admin postbits also, but maybe you have to search more into deep.
it could also be just in request forums..

b) with a bit coding also textinputboxes are possible for custom profilefileds

c) you could also install logicians conditional templates hack, to show extrastuff in postbit, when it's the postbit of an admin
