well...stupid question......no need for a custom template to be added to the header template when you can just put the html from the custom template right in there.

anyway.....the problem I was trying to solve was to remove the wrap table from the header and footer templates and then add that code to every template that has the call for the header and footer and then I could call my custom template on the pages I choose.
