I used postnuke together with vb for one year now and am happy to switch to vbhomelite (for news & articles)
If you have a lot of traffic on your site postnuke will put your server under enormous load. Postnuke pages did load only slowly. I used some caching techniques at the end (e.g. wget my index.php) but in my opinion it is no good solution. additionally the postnuke part was not accepted very well by my users, as its usage was very different to vb, which most of them love. lately I installed photopost which is a very tight integrated gallery-script which was accepted extremely good from day one.
My advice: rethink all the work you (wil) put into postnuke...
